Mental Health

Most recently we are launching a new initiative: Minds United: Nurturing Resilience, Inspiring Change.
Through this initiative we aim to create a supportive and educational platform to foster positive conversations and actions around mental well-being for youth and women.
Partnering for Students’ Mental Health and Digital Safety
At Community Change and Transformation Initiative (COTI), we are deeply concerned about the rising mental health challenges faced by students in Uganda—especially in secondary schools. As digital tools become more common in classrooms, we are seeing more cases of cyberbullying, harassment, anxiety, and stress among young people.
These issues affect not only their school performance but also their emotional well-being and future.
To respond to this, COTI is proud to launch the Digital Safety and Well-Being Project. This project will provide:

1. Workshops on safe online behavior
2. Peer support groups to help students share and learn
3. Awareness campaigns in schools
4. Counselling sessions for students who need individual support

We are excited to run this project in 10 schools across Uganda, starting this year. We are especially proud to partner with Guide Mental Health, whose support and generosity are making this launch possible. Thank you for standing with us in shaping a safer and healthier future for our young people.
As part of the launch, we are organizing a Mental Health Camp from Thursday, 17th July 2025 to Friday, July 18, 2025.
The camp will bring together about 120 students for a day of reflection, healing, and learning. It will include group therapy, creative sessions, and expert-led talks on digital safety and emotional wellness.
We are now calling upon friends and partners to support this camp—through financial donations, materials, food items, or volunteering. Together, we can help these students build resilience, confidence, and hope.
